Word from Dr. Fertig:

I want to apologize for my long absence. However, I can firmly reassure everyone of a magnanimous motivation and purpose that ultimately serves the needs of our patients, both directly and indirectly. I deeply value the privilege for the responsibility to provide your healthcare needs to minimize or prevent metabolic disease. I now return from a 10 year long tortuous book writing endeavour that was not without hard sacrifices. This magnum opus offers modern conceptual tools that have not only advanced my own problem solving skill sets for patient care, but hopefully will do so as well for the next generation of healthcare providers as we seek a new high-level precision personalized scale of Medicine.

I am delighted to be back and reunited with the family of this practice of which patients are the heart of the family. The two Volume opus, entitled “Metabolism & Medicine” is about the metabolic basis of the aging process and chronic diseases of aging.

Our service in the community was always primarily based on both physician and patient referral, which Dr. Kanj has supremely maintained and expanded. He has taken responsibility in my absence with incredible resilience. I am proud of his knowledge, competence, resourcefulness, and compassionate instincts. I owe Dr. Kanj a huge debt of gratitude for maintaining the service of this practice, and the wonderful opportunity of picking up where I left off, even better than it was before!
